Building a House on the Outer Banks
Many people want a chance to own the home of their dreams on the Outer Banks. There are many ways, to go about this. Definitely the most popular is to buy an existing home or condo. Buying an existing home or condo allows, you to take almost instant possession. For many this is necessary, as it can be expensive to pay for a home while it is being built.
For others they only will be happy with the actual home of their dreams. This means they will have to start with an idea or concept and go from there. Starting with a piece of land and a dream, is one way to truly realize your dream of living on the Outer Banks.
To many the thought of building a home from the ground up is frightening. This should definitely not be so. Construction if handled professionally, should be a rewarding experience for the home owner. To watch your idea become a reality should be exciting, definitely not frightening.
One way to determine if a builder is right for you is to look at their past work. We think once you view our past projects. You will realize why we have been so well respected as a top Outer Banks home builder. As a charter member of the Outer Banks Home building Association, we take our commitment to construction on the Outer Banks very seriously. Great Read on Renting a Vacation Home
Just the other morning I came across a wonderful article about vacation homes. The article was titled Vacation Rentals When Only the Best Will Do. The article from TahoeSun.com, laid out some very compelling points.
Often it is to the benefit of both vacationer and vacation home owner to utilize a professional property management company. Often the most important reason for both should be our location. We are here year round and twenty four hours a day. If something goes wrong, we are in the best position to take care of it. We at Kitty Hawk Rentals maintain a 24 hour emergency phone number.
A second excellent point made by the author was about the time involved in managing a home. Managing a vacation home is a full time job. That is why you will find the premier homes in an area represented by local property managers.

Arctic Chill hits the OBX
Well it feels like Winter has finally hit the Outer Banks. Sunday night brought in chilling winds and temperatures have plummeted. Today was one of the coldest mornings of the fall, luckily no frost, temperatures remained in the high 30's. The next day or so looks to be cool with temperatures rising for the weekend. It should be a great weekend to take a trip down to the beach.

Outer Banks Marathon Pictures
Later today will we be posting some great pictures from Mile Marker 22 during the OBX Marathon. The initial information puts the 2008 OBX Marathon as having 1400 more runners than last year. It would be an understatement to say the marathon has grown. It seems the marathon was just short of 5,000 runners. This is great news for the Outer Banks Relief Foundation, which is the non-profit organization the marathon is designed to benefit.
Everyone at Beach Realty - Kitty Hawk Rentals would like to thank, all those who put so much work into making this event a success. We would also like to thank all those who came out to cheer the runners. Everyone helped make this year's event better than last year. All of us here are looking forward to the 2009 OBX Marathon.

Beautiful Day for the OBX Marathon
Yesterday was a beautiful morning and afternoon for the OBX Marathon. The turnout was great initial estimates put it at over 5,000 runners. The 5,000 runners must have been complemented with an additional 5,000 fans. The finish for the marathon and half marathon was filled with cheering spectators.
It is the great support of all the fans and local volunteers, many who kept the water and gatorade flowing at the mile markers, that make the OBX Marathon such a special event. The post race party was filled with happy racers and their fans enjoying a beautiful November afternoon. Downtown Manteo was flowing with people in every direction. It is good to see such a fun event bring so many people together. Only 364 days till next year's OBX Marathon.

Nor'Easter Wets the Outer Banks
The last few days here on the Outer Banks have been cold and wet. A sustained wind from the Northeast has brought rain and windy conditions for the last few days. The weather appears to be breaking and the call for tomorrow is less wind and some sun. Spring should be making an appearance tomorrow here on the Outer Banks. Let's hope it's as beautiful as this picture.
